Sampdoria have released two new away kits to mark the 80th anniversary of their foundation.
The Blucerchiati were formed in 1946 by the merger of Andrea Doria and Sampierdarenese at Bar Roma, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, in Genoa’s Sampierdarena neighbourhood.
To celebrate, Macron have reimagined the two clubs’ kits with a modern twist. And the results are stunning, with Sampierdarenese’s iconic red and black horizontal bands, a feature of Sampdoria’s kit since the merger, cast across a white background.
The motif is reprised at the bottom of the shirt, where the dates 1946-2026 feature in gold over two narrow red and black bands, while the number 80 is white on white, with the 0 shaped as the coat of arms of the city of Genoa.

The Andrea Doria-inspired shirt, meanwhile, is vertically split between white and navy blue and features an old-fashioned collar and the city’s coat of arms just under the sponsor.
As the announcer at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris never fails to mention, Sampdoria wear “the best shirt in football”, and it’s not the first time Macron have produced something special for them.

Last season they released a limited-edition kit to mark the 40th anniversary of their 1985 Coppa Italia triumph, the club’s first trophy. The shirt was inspired by the one Sampdoria wore in the final against AC Milan, with its distinctive v-neck collar and the Coppa Italia winners’ badge.
The date July 3, 1985 was stitched on the back of the collar.
