Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry scored within six minutes of each other in the second half as Raymond Domenech’s men saw off Togo 2-0 to finish second in Group G with five points behind Switzerland.
While the pair are better known for their extraordinary success with Arsenal, both Henry and Vieira played in Serie A. The former made only 16 league appearances for Juventus, before moving to north London in August of 1999, where Vieira had moved three years earlier following a fleeting spell at AC Milan.
