Trento Stadium Guide: Stadio Briamasco

By Alessandra Marcotullio

Trento might be better known for its Alpine scenery, winter sports, historic centre and mountain surroundings, but football remains an important part of the city’s sporting identity.

At its heart is the Stadio Briamasco, home of AC Trento 1921. Opened in September 1922, the stadium has been part of the sporting landscape here for more than a century.

The Briamasco is a traditional municipal stadium with a strong local feel. Its compact stands offer a different kind of matchday experience, bringing supporters as close to the action as possible in one of northern Italy’s most distinctive cities.

Here is everything you need to know.

What Makes It Special?

It might not be as glamorous and well known as the most famous stadiums in the country, but given its size, the Briamasco allows football fans to feel almost part of the action.

Watching a match here is a nice way to experience the intimate side of Italy’s top sport: pure passion that goes beyond the results, and support for a team that still wants to prove its worth among the bigger teams in the league.

How To Get There?

Trento is well connected by train to major cities in northern Italy, including Verona and Bolzano. From the railway station, the Stadio Briamasco is around a 15–20-minute walk away. The stadium is also within walking distance of Piazza Duomo, the heart of Trento’s historic centre, which can be reached in 15–20 minutes on foot.

Neighbourhood Tips

Just a short walk from the Stadio Briamasco, the Le Albere district is worth exploring before or after a match. Designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano, this modern neighbourhood combines contemporary architecture, green spaces and cultural attractions.

The nearby Parco delle Albere offers a relaxing place for a stroll. Visitors can also admire Palazzo delle Albere, a historic Renaissance villa that contrasts with the district’s modern design.

From there, you can head towards Trento’s historic centre, where Piazza Duomo, the cathedral and the city’s traditional cafés and restaurants offer plenty to discover. A walk along the River Adige is another pleasant way to experience the city.

Need To Know

The Stadio Briamasco has four main sections: the Tribuna Nord Giorgio Grigolli, the Tribuna Sud Ito Del Favero, the Curva Est Gunther Mair and the Curva Ovest. It has a listed capacity of 4227 seats.

The Curva Est Gunther Mair is the main gathering point for Trento’s most passionate supporters, who bring the stands to life with chants and flags. The Tribuna Nord Giorgio Grigolli offers an alternative seating option, while away supporters are accommodated in a separate designated section, depending on the matchday arrangements.

Tickets are available through Vivaticket via the club’s official website.
