Serie B LIVE and FREE… How to Watch Matchday 3

High-flying Modena and Palermo both feature in the latest triple-header of Serie B fixtures live on Destination Calcio TV.

The Rosanero host Sampdoria on Monday night in a meeting of fallen giants, 24 hours after Modena welcome Avellino to the Stadio Alberto Braglia.

The DCTV cameras will also be in Verona on Sunday afternoon, when the Gialloblu welcome Arezzo, as we broadcast three matches, live and free, during every round of fixtures.

Here’s what to expect from the third weekend of the season (all kick-off times BST).

Modena vs Avellino (Sunday, September 6 – 2pm)

Two wins in two games, with five goals scored and just one conceded. Modena’s season could hardly have got off to a better start and they reinforced their credentials with a 3-0 trouncing of promotion favourites Cremonese away from home.

Avellino, who beat Vicenza by the same scoreline, are up next at the Stadio Alberto Braglia. Having made the play-offs last season in their first campaign back in Serie B for seven years, the Irpini must prove they were not a flash in the pan.

A home defeat by promoted Arezzo on the opening game of the season suggested otherwise, but the dominant performance against Vicenza was a step in the right direction for Alessandro Nesta’s men.

Hellas Verona vs Arezzo (Sunday, September 6 – 4:15pm)

The setting for two William Shakespeare plays, Verona is used to drama. And there has already been plenty this season, more than Marco Baroni would have liked, in fact.

In his first campaign in charge, the former Lazio and Torino manager has been tasked with leading the Gialloblu back to Serie A at the first time of asking.

But they were beaten at home by promoted Ascoli on the opening weekend, and needed a penalty to rescue a point at Padova in the first Veneto derby of the season.

Arezzo have made a better start. The Tuscans won 2-1 in Avellino on the first weekend, and only lost a five-goal thriller against much-fancied Palermo after a 94th-minute winner from the Sicilians.

Palermo vs Sampdoria (Monday, September 7 – 7:30pm)

Serie B’s two biggest clubs meet in front of what should be a packed Renzo Barbera, but Palermo and Sampdoria head into the fixture in contrasting moods.

Tommaso Augello’s 94th-minute effort against Arezzo made it two wins in two for the Rosanero, but boss Filippo Inzaghi could have done without his side squandering a two-goal lead before the late, late show.

For Sampdoria, it looks as if the top flight will remain little more than a mirage for the foreseeable future. Having flirted with relegation for the past two seasons, the Blucerchiati have just one point after two games following defeat at home to Juve Stabia last weekend.

Picking up a point in Sicily would be the confidence boost Bernardo Corradi and his players badly need.
