Parma Stadium Guide: Stadio Ennio Tardini
By Emmet Gates
Once the playground of Gianfranco Zola, Faustino Asprilla, Hristo Stoichkov, Juan Sebastian Veron and Hernan Crespo… Parma’s Ennio Tardini has a real history.
And while the glory days of the 1990s are behind them, this old-school English-style stadium can still crank up an atmosphere.
Built in 1923, renovated several times and named after one of its former presidents, the Tardini and its boxy structure is worth visiting.
Here’s all you need to know.

What Makes It Special?
The Tardini has incredible sight lines no matter where you sit. It is a tight, compact arena influenced by Lyon’s old Stade de Gerland ground when it was being built in the 1920s.
With a capacity of just over 22,000, the noise stays inside, especially when main ultra group, Boys Parma 1977, are in full voice.

How To Get There
Located in the south-east corner of the city, the Tardini is easily accessible by foot. A gentle stroll through the city will have you at the ground in less than 20 minutes.
The bus is straightforward with a few options from outside Piazza Duomo in the heart of the city. Get off at Barilla Center and from there it is just a few minutes to walk.
Neighbourhood Tips
Bar Gianni on Via Duca Alessandro is a staple for Parma fans to get a pre-game tipple before heading to the Tardini.
Another classic Parma spot is Red Wine Bar, a bar/cafe on Viale Sette Fratelli Cervi that is also a favourite for fans before and after games.

Need To Know
Parma’s hardcore supporters – Boys Parma 1977 – sit in the Curva Nord (named as it is despite the squared shape of all four stands). Away fans and some of the Ducati’s more general supporters sit in the Curva Sud at the opposite end.
The Tribuna Laterale, Centrale and Inferiore sections, which run along the side of the pitch, are recommended for a more tranquil experience of the game and the ideal place to take everything in. But this is still close enough to feel the passion of the home crowd.
