The Milan Derby Captured in Seven Images

By David Ferrini

Inter Milan and AC Milan met in this season’s first instalment of the Derby della Madonnina at the San Siro on Sunday night. And one of world’s football greatest derbies lived up to its reputation on and off the pitch, with a cacophony of colours and noise engulfing the players as they walked onto the pitch and continuing throughout the 90 minutes.

An already electric atmosphere became febrile as Matteo Gabbia thumped in an 89th minute header to give the Rossoneri a first win over the Nerazzurri in seven attempts and potentially saved Paulo Fonseca’s job, which had looked in peril ahead of kick-off.

Destination Calcio attended the Milan derby both in the press box and in the stands and here’s a gallery of some stunning pictures from Sunday night.
