Moise Kean is enjoying an inspired season in front of goal for Fiorentina, but the striker has turned his attention to topping a different type of chart.

Third in Serie A’s leading goalscorers list, the 24-year-old has made no secret of his love for music and has debuted his first rap album, titled CHOSEN.

Produced under his stage name KMB, the record features 11 tracks with titles such as “I Was Born a Winner”, “Nobody” and “Celebrate” – the latter described by Kean as the “anthem” of the album.

“Some say I think too much about music, but if God gives you the chance to have a talent, why not show it?” he told AP on announcing the release. “Making music relaxes me. After finishing training, I recuperate by writing in my studio.

Kean, who named his son after music icon Bob Marley, added: “Many people still don’t understand what music offers me. Music has always been part of my football journey.”

To mark the occasion, Kean held his own private watch party in Milan, with Serie A royalty in attendance. Teammates Cristiano Biraghi, Riccardo Sottil, Robin Gosens and Albert Gudmundsson all attended, while USMNT star Weston McKennie and England Under-21 international Samuel Iling-Junior were also present. Kean played alongside both at Juventus.

Officially released on Monday, the album is 26 minutes long and available to listen to on all streaming platforms including Spotify, where the Italy international already has more than 31,000 monthly listens.

He isn’t the first star plying his trade in Italy to dabble in Music. Milan winger Rafael Leao has also release rap music under the alias WAY 45. The Portugal international has released two albums to date; Beginning in 2021 and My Life In Each Verse in 2023.

On the pitch, Kean has been centre stage of Fiorentina’s good form this season. The striker has nine goals in Serie A, and is third in the top flight’s goalscoring chart behind Marcus Thuram and Mateo Retegui.

He has 13 goals in all competitions, and his form has also seen him return to the national team, having been left out of Luciano Spalletti’s squad for Euro 2024.
